There are three processer makers Intel, AMD and Via-cyrix two of the makers have a ( high end ) and ( low end ) processers, Viacyrix is a economy chip maker and there processers are very cheap, Not to say there not good but they have a very low price .

Lets start with the BIG DOG top of the line Intel Pentium 4 My personal favorite, Intel is the largest of the three chip makers and the most popular, Pentium 4 comes in three different front-side-bus ( fsb ) 400MHz, 533MHz and the biggest of them all 800MHz, Pentium 4 also has HT-Hyper-Threading Technology, ( To quote Intel ) This enables the processor to execute two threads (parts of a software program) in parallel - so your software can run more efficiently and you can multitask more effectively. Ok thats the high end now for the low end, Celeron will do most of your basic computing needs, Good for Home and office. This will save you some bucks if all you do is send E-Mail and Surf .

AMD is a good processer for people who need the most Bang for the Buck! ( Like Intel ) AMD has a high end and a low end processers at the high end Athlon 64FX ( To quote AMD ) AMD64 technology enables leading-edge software performance and new experiences & capabilities with simultaneous, high-performance 32- and 64-bit computing, For most people Athlon XP will work just fine, On the low end Duron it is equal to Celeron for Home and Office, You can do office apps, E-Mail and surfing. Athlon to comes in three popular front-side-bus ( fsb ), 266MHz, 333MHz and the new 400MHz .

Viacyrix to me is a economy processer, They are good for Home and Office, E-mail, surfing like the other low end chips, But if you don,t have alot of money and big needs these are great processers. ( Not For Gaming ) But they are often sold with motherboards as a combo. This can save you alot of ( bucks ), But the largest I have seen is only 1GHz at 133MHz-fsb .
